Farhan’s Dream Comes True
Farhan Rana Apurba a 3 year old child who is suffering from Metastatic Neuroblastoma and now on palliative pain control in Saroj Gupta Cancer Center and Research Institute under Dr.R.N.Ghosh makes a wish to meet his dream star SALMAN KHAN. At first he responded well to chemotherapy but after chemotherapy surgery was not possible as the tumor was very advanced. Now the tumor relapsed and he is on morphine for pain control. As the days are counting for him “Make A Wish Foundation” an NGO who concurrently works with our hospital makes no stone unturned to fulfill his dream (? last) into reality and I got a GOD gifted (as every child is another image of GOD) opportunity to meet Salman Khan as our Hospital Authority selected me as the attending Physician for accompanying the child. Everything was going so fast. Things started finalizing yesterday around 6pm and got finalized within 2 hours.
Today we started our Journey around 8am in the morning from the hospital. Our flight was at 11.10am. Thanks to all Staffs of Indigo Airways who not only helped, contributed in our entire journey (including return) but also giving all of us a V.V.I.P treatment both in Kolkata and in Mumbai airport. The whole journey they were with us, even in flight they were announcing what Farhan was going to do today. We reached Mumbai timely and found an ambulance waiting there, outside airport, for us, arranged by Mumbai division of “Make a Wish” Branch. By this ambulance we went to Ranibag (around 45 mins from airport) in a ruined factory around 2.30pm where Salman khan was busy in shooting for his upcoming film “Mental”.
After some time The Dabaang Man came. He was wearing a black T-Shirt and Black Jeans, looking mind-blowing handsome. He was so calm, polite and kind to the child. Trying to make him laugh took him in his lap and went to the shooting place. He makes some action sequence in the shooting place while taking the child in his lap. Also I got some chance to become close to him when he meet me, handshake with me and make a small hug with me and ask about the child regarding his disease, treatment and prognosis. We took lots of Photos there and I was stunned (as a medical person)to see the 3year old child that how tons and tons of energy suddenly loaded in a terminally ill patient when we all help him to make his only dream into reality.
His parents were crying when we were returning home (as they know the actual fact that they will loose their child after few month) and I was thinking that how fake is my own pain in relation with their. It’s a GOD gifted chance to me to meet SALMAN KHAN .I will never forget 19th September2013 where Farhan makes a wish and fulfill one of my wish. When I handed over Farhan to the ward nurses hand he gave me a kiss which I never forget in my Lifetime.
Thank you Farhan. Take care. GOD BLESS YOU.
Please Wish for Farhan , all of our wishes surely give Farhan more power for battle and not to leave us…….
